Lona herself
With a passion for handbags and a love for designing Lona Gutknecht fell right into designing handbags. Lona Gutknecht Handbags are hand made in the United States of America. Lona goes one on one with every step in the making of her bags.
The Saddle Bag being her first, Lona started with Elk hide supplied by her father, an avid hunter. The Elk Hide comes first hand from the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Lona designs many other styles of bags and uses fine Italian leathers and 100% certified organic canvas. Inside the bag you will find an exciting limited edition colorful lining from the Cote-d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast of Africa).
Lona gets her inspiration from traveling and from her Mom. From her travels she gets culture and from her Mom she get good taste with detail and quality. Lona sometimes designs a bag from one she saw in a dream she had. She often picks the leather first and then organically designs the bag from the look and the feel of the leather she has chosen.
Lona Gutknecht is from the Denver/Boulder area of Colorado where she is still very active. She now lives in San Diego, California and spends much of her time in New York City.

These voguish handbags are made of Italian leather in exception to the lush Elk. Each bag has a fashionable and unique limited colorful lining from the Cote-d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast of Africa). Each bag also has a chic signature natural horn toggle.

What’s in a bag?
Love and Care for the bag
Treat the bag with love and care and it will extend its life. Be aware of where you place the bag. When the bag is not in use Store the bag on a shelf and keep it in a dust bag. Keep out of sun for long periods of time.
The Leather and horn toggle are natural and will very slightly between each bag. As the bag is used it will become softer and more lush and it will loose its square shape and become more slouchy and personal.
Please do not use chemical cleaners to care for the leather. If the leather gets wet put it in a dry cool place until dry, do not dry with heat.
All leather is Genuine Italian leather with the exception of the Elk Leather which comes first hand from the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
Elk Leather
Elk leather is expected to have natural marking and vary slightly between each bag. The leather will darken over time with the natural oils from your skin and the conditions the bag will be exposed to.
All Elk hide comes first hand from the Rocky Mountains.
Natural Horn Toggle
The Horn Toggles are natural and are subject to variation in color and size.
Lining and Leather
All leathers hand picked by Lona herself.
The Linings are from the Cote-d’Ivoire
(Ivory Coast of Africa, all linings are in a limited amount so they will change periodically as bags sell out)
Dust Bag
Every bag comes with an Authentic Dust bag. The purpose of the dust bag is to store your bag while not being used to protect it from dust and the sun.
Tag and Card
Every bag comes with an authenticity card and tag.
